BLING A Ding Ding

I've wanted to make this for a while, actually have had a picture of one in my treasure map book for years. In the spirit of Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, "I just love to find new ways to wear diamonds", which I was watching the night before, I thought - "why not have rhinestone mouse?!". So here it is.

And yes, I do feel more glamourous checking my emails & blogging!

Work doesn't feel so bad when it resembles home.

This is my cubicle... homey isn't it? If I've gotta spend a third of my life at work, I want it to be as comfy as possible!

The engineers I work for just throw their hands in the air... they know very well after 16 years working here that I suffer from ADD (Attention Decorating Disorder)!

Magic in the ordinary

My creative soul sees the world through different eyes. What may pass by w/o notice from most, will catch my green eyes and delight me to no end! That's how I felt when I notice this tree full of singing black birds. They were in quite a ruckus! Chirping away as I observed them with an ear to ear smile.

(most of my friends think I'm a strange bird too)

Weekend Circuit Assembly

It was a lovely Santa Ana-warm weekend with friends & family at Mira Loma Assembly Hall.

Viva Temecula Diva's!

Psst! Hey you... come here. I want you to meet a friend of mine.

This Grande Dame is Bella Oak. She is the namesake of my 5 acres and has been holding her ground for over 300 years. There is something so whimsical about trees of large stature. Even the Bible uses large trees as a metaphor for opulent goverments (Daniel,)for depicting God's right to rule(Genesis), and for describing the sublime value of God's uncomparable Word and its benefit to those who study it; "It is a tree of life to those taking hold of it, and those keeping fast hold of it are to be called happy" (Proverbs 3:18). Trees like Bella propel the imagination. She does more than give flight to birds... beneath her boughs, my anxiety takes flight, and I am left with the song of the wind thru her leaves, singing a sweet lullaby of calmness and tranquility.

Bella is a big girl. Note the chair next to her trunk. It would take 4-5 adults to wraps their arms around her. There's a lot of her to love! And I'm grateful she's given me a secret place to unwind & relax.

Bon Jour 2009! Make Magic This Year!

I make pretty goal books that I call "Treasure Maps". They are visual candy for me. I always write an affirmation on the page that affirms I already have whatever my goal is. That is how I use my subconsious to pull these things into my life. Try it - it works!

I love to look forward to a New Year. It's a blank canvas for me to just fill in! Places to visit, friendships to make, ways to live more fit & healthy, things to learn (i.e. CRAFTS!!) I ALWAYS sit down and write out a list of goals for the new year. And I keep this up all year long to pace myself and to focus my energy.
