Beveled Box
When the cat's away, the mice CRAFT! Tommy was on a 2-day fishing boat last weekend, so me and two creative pals, Donna & Robin, came over to solder. I got the idea from my other creative gal-pal Xtine, who does these lovely house-shaped boxes, but since I could not find those bevel piece in time, I just did a 5X7 rectangle. Making the box that the glass sat took too much time... I'll have to brainstorm on finding and easier way... but filling it was the fun part.

Beach Bummin' It
Camping does not have to be frill-less. My campsite is always pretty. Brenda & I have tiny trailers so we put 2 on one campsite. Bright, punchy colors are eye candy when paired with the dazzling blue Pacific. Check out my itty-bitty doll house below. Bright & cozy! It sleeps 2. We love the beach - what's not to love right! We drove down on Thursday, and the hubby's came down on Saturday. The weather was perfect (77 degrees) - and the water felt great - 71 degrees! There is nothing more relaxing to your body than salt water - the ocean is a tranquilizer! Brenda & I have our routine down - walking to Swami's or Pipes for breakfast, afterwards down to the sand with snacks etc..., then happy hour back at our site. There are always folks passing by our site that ask for a closer look at our trailers. It's fun to inspire people - most don't know how little effort it takes to create a lil' paradise on wheels!

I had to show-off this lovely crocheted creation mailed to me by my beloved gal-pal and crochet master, Ms. Glenda. It's so pinkaliscious!

A Purse That Will Make You Purr
If my Daisy could carry a purse, she'd carry one of these! Pink & Tan Beauties - quite ooh la la, if I don't say so myself! I probably should set up an Etsy acct., but I just don't make that many. These are for sale though and they are $175.00 each. They take about 20 hours to crochet. People - even men! - are constantly commenting on my bags! Right now, I'm toteing the pink & green one around this summer and people just flip when they see it! If you want a real show stopper of a bag (and what woman doesn't!), then these are it. Sadly, the photos just don't do them justice. You've got to see & feel the texture for yourself!

Paper Slipper Fit For A Flyin' Pixie
A Pixie needs to travel light... it can't be weighed down by leather souled shoes. This paper slipper is perfect for flight! My ol' pal Nora came by this past Friday... which was part of that "25%" of relaxing I mentioned... well after she & I had enough sun around the pool, we headed to my art studio (aka garage) and made these lil' slippers out of wallpaper. Cute huh? I saw them in "Marie" magazine, and figured out how to make them. I want to teach my other girlie pals how to make them... it would be a fun luncheon!

A New Watchman - Welcome Otis!
My long weekend was 25% relaxing, and 75% chores. That's okay though... I look forward to doing things around the house. I count my blessing for living on 5 acres, enjoying a lil' space of our own. I welcome all the bees, butterflys and birds, even feeding them. But squirrles are NOT welcome! They literally have chewed on our car wiring ($$$)! They've caused portions of our slop to erode, and now they are hopping the fence into our garden! They're eating my squash blossoms! That's it! It's war! Get'em Otis! Otis is packed with flickering glitter rays emitting from his sleeves and collar! Just one look at him, and those squirrles will have the bageebees scared right out of them! Plus Otis has back up, a guy name Tommy that packs a rifle!
