Went to Nancy Grinberg's in Encinitas for dinner, pink drinks and some crafting! Made some earrings together and had a lovely evening with the North County Divas!! This is my Marie Antoinette on an antique wooden spindle - cute huh?!?
Did a pen workshop that involoved some soldering - a beginners project. It was held at La Maison Rustique, cute shabby/chic atmosphere. Made Donna's pen too - she couldn't make it. It's the "Bon Ami" (french for good friend) one. Mine says "Glitter-azzi". I definately need to practice this craft!
Who does not treasure a handmade gift?? I had a few Divas over for cocktails, and one toted in this swank lil' giftbag. My heart sang when I pulled this out of it!!! Shelly's dearest pal, Jennifer Basile, whom I met only once before made me this delightful candle holder!!! I exclaimed "a New Kindred Spirit!!!". Isn't it cool when you meet another person that loves to craft and shares their art w/ you!?! Crafty-types just bond instantly!!! I tried to capture the lovely Marie Antoinette images/vibe that surrounded the candle, and were especially beautiful when illuminated. Plus, the prism had a Marie A. image glue on the back of it. Unfortunately, my camera forces me to use all the ugly words because I struggle getting a good closeup!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jennifer!!! The newly groomed General Nard (Marty).
This is Marty (aka General Nard), we adopted him from a rescue program a few years ago. He's a bit of a mental case. I already have 2 short haired dogs that don't require grooming, so trying to keep this furball under control is a challenge. He does not like to be bathed or groomed - must of had some bad experiences.... so I have to take him to Tustin (an hours drive from Murrieta!) to get groomed because they know how to deal with him. So I make a day of it, by going with my sister-in-law and poking around shops in the area, one which was just down the street from Marty's "BLUE RIBBON" groomer (awesome - animal-lovin' folks!) was Whimsy! Very cute shop and sweet shop owner! Then around the corner was another cute shop with a back area full of birdcages filled with plants - very cute idea! Stay tuned... I'll snap a pic of Marty now that he's all handsomely groomed!
This was another swap... 10 ladies made a Marie themed page (X's 10) and then they gave one to each in the swap group. Look at the beautiful pages in this art book they created from it. I begged them to do it again - a "post-swap" since the workshop has already passed. I just LOVED the result and want one for myself!!!
I'm new to "workshops", but now I'm addicted to them! Some woman in this workshop participated in a "wand swap". They made a Marie themed wand, and exchange them with the partner assigned to them by Kim. Here are some of the wands... The top one is what lovely Marilyn Adams made me! She hand beaded the bonbon! Now no one was taking a picture with my camera while she and I swapped wands, so stay tuned because I'll probably get an email with one of us together.
I was so impressed with the beautiful setting at the Marie Antoinette Soiree. It was a delightful feminine feast for the eyes! An awesome workshop with a gorgeous host Kim, and brilliant teacher, Candace. And these two talented woman were assisted by their loving Mothers (they are so lucky!).
I'm a collector of all things pretty, and all things that feel whimsiful. I live a handmade life. I endeavor to create something daily. I love to make a lovely home - a place to be cozy in, a place to feel enchanted by, and a place to build memories upon. I'm a domestic engineer of sorts. My style is best described as "Whim-mantic" - half whimsy and half romantic. I am the ultimate hopeful romantic.
