Pom Poms & House Canvas

Amy Hanna taught the House Canvas workshop and her pal Pam taught us how to make a pom pom garland. My canvas of Daisy isn't too vintage looking... the others are Amy's - they're beautiful! I'm going to play around with it a bit more at home.

This is my paper-piles for my pompom garland.

La Petit Maison Blanc (cont.)

Kim & her crew pay close attention to details, which makes for a visual feast!

We had our lil' pre-party soiree at Paris to the Moon! Very cute!!

Frozen Charlotte

I found this LARGE Frozen Charlotte doll at Rose Bowl. I did not know they came that big. I never saw a whole doll before with arms & legs - another great find!

DisPLAYING

My recent trip to the Rose Bowl Flea Market was site where I found this pair of french lamps... the shoe forms came from from Pam Garrison, and the millinery bits from Amy Hanna.

Shadow Box & Key Swap

This is what I made for the 2 other swaps I was in. It's fun to see what everyone comes up with!

Royalty Not Needed - Wear a Crown

This is a crown I made for a swap hosted by La Petit Blanc Maison last weekend. I can see that there is an infinite range of styles to go with crowns by all that partcipated.

Puttin' On The Ritz

After the Rose Bowl, we drove to the nearby Langham Huntington (Ritz Carlton) Hotel for drinks and appetizers. A gorgeous place with lush landscape in bloom.

Great Houses

This is the neighborhood we drove through to get to the Ritz. Sheeesh! What do these people do for a living???

ROSE BOWL (a great place to flea!)

Had a great time flea-in' with family. It was so much FUN to treasure hunt together. Beez and I were looking for' lil rare bits for upcoming necklace workshop. We found some cool stuff ( I'll post my purchases later...). This is one of my finds - this old dressform for $65 bucks!! Named her "Bebe". Freddy bought the center amoire - it's going to be their bar in the master bedroom - cool huh!

So many treasures..... so little cas$h.....

Two Crafting Loons

Okay, let me tell you about my crazy Puerto Rican friend Donna Horn. This girl is full of crafty acts! We are a great team because I can come up with the designs, and she has the techniques to put it together. But whats funny is she and I have this lil' thing going where we'll make something for one another as a gift, but secretly we're really trying to trump eachothers creativity (a healthy competition w/ benefits!). Now defeat is not easy to admit, but I don't think I can trump the beautiful lil' Bird Book she made me. Just look at it! Complete w/ nest & eggs!! Pink rhinestones encircling the lil' feathered friend. And a foldout center that has petite bird poetry w/ pictures. She knows that I love bird items and so made me this sweet gift (swoon...)! But what she did not know, was that my family nickname is "Tinabird", named after Ladybird Johnson, former First Lady.

Donna & I were up to midnight last Friday soldering these and other jewels... the button is especially precious to me - it belonged to her seamstress Grandmother!
